Trains, Planes, Automobiles: Hanoi, Vietnam

In comparison with all the constant buzzing and zooming around since I arrived here in Hanoi, I’ve been slowing down. Two weeks on the road with the bike really drained my energy supplies. I got here without anything truly to do so taking in the streets and culture as they came was more than necessary, it was the only.

But that, honestly, is maybe one of the best ways to discover a city. You do wander streets without real intention. You don’t search for a thrum. With no plans, anything is possible. Any desire could be sought after. Any dream could be recognized, or better yet, discovered.

There was one thing I had to do, train street of course!

First mission, check out this train thing to get a feeling.

Saw some interesting feels on the way there.

Here we go.

Normal?

These people just carry stoves around and start cooking wherever. Not sure that would be allowed in most places, but it’s street culture at is finest. It’s alive, right here, right now.

Adult sized

My photo lab was down this alley.

It’s like instead of having 7/11, the 7/11 just walks around and comes to you.

What is this blue jar? Pickled garlic! I guess it turns blue and will add a sour flavor so all profiles are hit. Vietnamese food is special when it comes to the palette.

Right outside the shop, the server lady mentioned I should wait for this shot. What a cool recommendation. Thanks for the suggestion Paige! 2-4-1!

More normal.

This guys got ideas.

All setup!

So that’s where all them hoes be?!

Nothing to see here. Good day. Exploring felt real good! I feel like I’m finding a groove in the city now. Sleeping in and taking my time is helping. Maybe I’m not so depressed after all. Hopeful for tomorrow! I’ve got a cooking class!
