New Dreams: Uluwatu, Bali

As I sit here in bed booking flights to my last destinations, I realize, for the first time in my life entire life, that I accomplished a dream. Maybe many. Not attempted, but actually tasted the sweetness, the sweat, the tears, the highs, the lows of something I only imagined for years. Dreams they call it. It was actually everything I could have wanted, and it almost doesn’t feel real.

Now, I’m at the finishing line. I can see it in the distance. There’s no not finishing this marathon anymore. No more fears or wonders of what could be. I’m closer to running backwards then forwards. Anything to not have to face a new future.

This is the life I’ve known for almost a whole year. I created this reality, and now, it ends?!? No way!

So what now?

Something I’ve been learning since I started traveling is that nothing ever ends. This story is just one of many stories tied together—neverendingly. You don’t stop traveling just because you go home. You don’t stop adventuring just because it’s not exotic and foreign destinations. You search for the nuances in your everyday life. You see the differences that only exploring can show you in your own world. You discover that life itself is a journey, and that every second of everyday can be filled with adventure, curiosity, and discovery.

So cheers to you old world, I’ll see you again soon. The new world feels a little smaller now, and I like that. It means I’ve put faces and names to all those places and people. No longer a bunch of dots on a map or strangers in a crowd, but a familiar place where I know my way around, and some even know my name.

Time for some new dreams ✨
