Keegan Kim and the Kingdoms of Osaka

The big slow down. I’ve been off and on sick or feeling bad since Bali. I decided to chill after Kyoto. This last week is me just realizing I’m going home. I actually got really nervous for a split second. I went from very excited and expected to unsure and “fuck, what did I do” kind of feeling. All my friends that have gone home, which is mostly all of them, have had this moment already. It’s my turn to ride the ride. No matter what, I’m up next.

The one thing I truly enjoy about travel is when you have only a couple things planned and wander in-between. I randomly decided to go to Universal, I wanted to see this castle I’ve been skipping, and one more photogenic spot. Taking trains and walking neighborhoods inbetween is always delightful. It’s what I enjoy most about Japan.

Plush vinyl seats on a public train. No stains. No rips or tears. Some of my friends were saying how strict Japan is, but look at what their public domain looks like compared to ours. Respect is in the culture, it’s more than just rules, it’s a way of life.

Also, a random METRO toilet that has no stains or piss on the floor. The seat was heated and there was a bidet. Can’t wait to experience USA quality soon!

I was last to enter and did not speak Japanese. The guy (Ollivander, but looked more like Prof. Slughorn) looked at everyone and chose me for the wand ceremony! I forgot the details other than it was a Dragon Heartstring which felt spot on. For 5600¥ I pass, but was worth the experience! Almost thought they were going to give it to me 😝
