Full Moon Energy: Koh Samui

Since I quit drinking, going to parties, shows and especially festivals just sound unappealing. Actually, the sound terrible now. I spent so much time chasing that scene, and you know what I found? Nothing. So I stay away, but damn, it’s hard to escape in Thailand.

Is this what everyone is looking for?

There is some pretty stuff.

Most of its this though. There is just mass over-tourism. I don’t even blame the Thais for wanting to make money, I blame the tourist for wanting these things, this environment. I just don’t get it.

Lots of ranting here, but I just don’t understand how having 10,000 random people is better than having 5 of your best friends.

Everything was sold out so I got stuck in the lost tourist district: Chaweng Beach.

Tbf, I did really enjoy this falafel place.

This guy sums up Chaweng Beach.

Okay okay, so it wasn’t all bad. The full moon party just brought about the worst of the worst. Outside of that it seems pretty normal for Thailand. The moon was actually quite sick, hard to show that in photos though.

But this is the real energy I’m chasing! That’s a real smile!

If I ever come back here, I’ll just be sure to stay away from over there and be closer to this. This is kinda like an analogy for life, if you don’t like where you are, search for something different. I was so happy to find some real paradise.
