Travel Spirit

The moment I got to Taiwan things felt different. I’ve been in SEA (South East Asia) for those who haven’t put that together for the last 6 months. Incredible, but I could feel the scenery always felt the same although it could contrast quickly and differently.

I’m so grateful for what I saw and did, but I noticed I was losing the motivation to be creative and flowing. I thought maybe I had lost the spirit, that I was over traveling, but I found that my spirit had only been dampened and craved a different world. Enter Taiwan.

I already wrote a full except for my epic start here involving the earth quake so I’ll skip over that. This will be the general recap.

Man, does it feel good so see a fresh city and a fresh country! To say the least, I was psyched quickly, and that spirit? Well, it felt like the flood gates opened yet again. Did someone say magic?

That new country jitters, but it’s different when you’re leaving an entire region. These hit different. Finally, that excitement!

Finally found my hidden stickers. All caught up.

First thing, I arrive at the airport, grab money, and still can’t use this machine. I put my phone on here everyday possible. I tried 10x only to stare longingly at those Pringle’s that would never be. 🥲

Also, big pet peeve, ATMS only give you big bills, but every country only has small change. What’s the result? You can’t buy anything even with money 😅!

Luckily, lots of Taiwanese speak English and this couple bought me a cheap ticket and even refused to let me pay them back. Those first moments in a country are always so telling, I’m feeling good.

Walked by this random movie theater and was thrilled. Seeing the Asian font for American movies feels so romantic to me. Honestly, in this case, romantic is means freaking cool and I can’t get enough.
