Thakhek Looping: D3
Wow, what a group. We randomly found each other and got along so swimmingly. We mesh quite well even with different personalities. Only one true objective here: ride the loop and see things we can’t see at home. Everyone is down for that mission.
Started the day off ON TIME! And of course, fate still slowed us down. A failed bike and we were stuck for an hour melting even in the shade.
Soon we coupled up and headed to the cave. Already we were into the evening hours.
But in the darkness, time means nothing.
This place was unreal. Many caverns had no lights, only headlamps, but shining that around, you could feel the enormity of the place. Cathedrals could fit inside.
The Mines of Moria no longer seem fantasy in my mind. Whole civilizations could fit down here.
The whole ride was over 2 hours there and back if that gives you any idea.
Un-freakin-real
As the sun began to set, we were cruising back towards our guesthouse and the views were everything I could want in…life. Sunset colors, friends, open road, wind in your face, tranquil scenery, the grip of an engine at your fingertips, and beauty. So much beauty.
If everyday were like this, no one would believe me.
