Shifting Winds: Taipei, Taiwan

Screw it. I kept trying to write this all coded or undersold, but I’ve been in my feels a lot. Many days in Vietnam were up and down understanding my feelings as they were punching me with all kinds of intensity. I’m at a point in my travels I’ve never been. I’m more than tired, I’m more than exhausted, I’m emotionally drained. My introversion has me feeling the need to be alone, but alone feels the worst at this point. So the days have been rollercoasters of feelings. This is strange territory. I’m learning as I go. It’s all so new, just like a new culture or language, I’m just bumping into stuff trying to adjust. But I feel the winds are changing.

Normally, I’m a stalwart when it comes to emotion. I try to be stoic and watch as others shift their revolving doors, but lately I’ve told myself to feel because it’s a part of me I don’t know as well. To say the least, this last 6 months have been nothing but feels. These last few days though, I notice it’s a little less. I can feel myself slightly less sad. I can find a smile faster or not be so anxious. It’s all about baby steps. Always is.

Anyway, my street wandering has been so good. Taiwan is a cool place and it’s been perfect to slow down and notice something different.

Feel the rain upon your skin..

The search for tasty things and weird scenery.

Yes, please.

WHAT ARE THOSE?!

I’ll have one. Yes, all delicious.

Went back 😅

Hmmm, why are they glowing?

It’s like a wrapped present, you’re not really sure what you’re gonna get. 🎁

GOLD!

Not quite what I had in mind…

That’s better!

Freaking sweet, savory, small, but crazy delicious.

Nice. Weird!

Beautiful.

Awesome.

I’m sold, you got me good Taipei.

Morning finds next to my hostel. This is DELICIOUS! Street food in Asia can be really easy or sometimes kinda annoying to figure out. Taiwan is out in the open with its food and offerings. So let’s say I find food without having to think.

Went shopping, and found this crazy cool photo in H&M.

Can’t stop now.

Wandering.

Ahh, there’s that rain.

Memorable.

Makes for such cool photos though.

What’s this guy guarding? Why is he wasting his life like that?

You would think I’d been gaining weight this whole time 😝

Da’an neighborhood was elegant and peaceful.

Todays mission was successful.

I see you Asia🫰🏼

Sometimes you stop to pee and you remember how good French fries and coca-cola mix. It’s been years.

A little out of my league.

Especially these guys.

Fire alarm to top off a wild week in Taiwan! One more to go! And I’m finally caught up on my blogging! Yay 🫠😮‍💨😵‍💫😁
