Mt. Fuji

Mt Fuji:

For my birthday last year, I thought being in Japan would be enough. When Matt asked me what I was planning on doing, I realized I had no idea. On a trip where I could do anything, what would be truly fun and enjoyable for that kind of day? I knew Mt Fuji was on the list, and it was becoming more tantalizing the longer I thought.

Everything worked like a charm there. I found adventure. I found peace. I found the serenity and nature Japan is known for. There were friends and experiences I’ll remember the rest of my life. And of course, there were constant stunning views of Mt Fuji.

I woke up at 4am to take the photo free of people and perfect morning light down this photogenic street. It was actually quite foggy to start the day and I didn’t know if it was going to work. Then, as if by magic, there was about a 5 min window where it lifted and showed its entire face. I squeezed off as many photos as I could and then just tried to enjoy the mysterious mess of the moment before it whispered away.

Top to bottom, my entire Japan trip was incredible, but this was probably the icing on the cake.

Freezing at 4am. Tokyo was 32C and Mt Fuji was 5C 😝 but hey, I got the chance and the shot. Made it even cooler honestly.

Big trees equal big bows. Like they are holding it together, or it’s a present, or it’s bound with love. Idk either way I love it.

My bike ride around Lake Kawaguchiko was beyond memorable. It was peaceful and serene. Undoubtably, all the things I like in life were in this day.

Those big trees again.

Picturesque anyone?
