Kyoto things
Watching “Memoirs of a Geisha” reminded me I myself had visited this magical throwback of Japanese heritage. I’m not gonna say that all of Kyoto is lovable and undeniable because tourism works its ugly fingers into all things beautiful, but damn if it’s not still absolutely addicting.
People of all kinds dress in traditional kimonos, street stalls line all the streets of the old town, and of course there are just stunning pieces of architecture wherever you look. Maybe that’s all part of zen though. Japanese philosophy would have you find peace in all walks of life regardless of the noise, Maybe you can see a little of what I found amongst the commotion.
Japan, you will always have a piece of my heart. Always.
I’ve wanted to shoot this photo forever and a day. My soul just bleeds this feeling, even with the 30+ other people behind me clamoring for photos too.
I mean, yeah…it’s worth it.
The groan when the street cleared for 1 second before someone walked down the way was priceless.
6AM arrival, 4C, and still that many people.
I’m kinda pro at finding shots without people even when they are everywhere.
Same spot a few hours later.
This spot was so perfect with its colors and textures. Then of course people just dress up to fit the occasion, a photographers dream.
Well, almost.
Leave the tourist attractions and AM in the streets is unreal.
I can’t believe it took me so long to go to Japan. It was always on my list but never a priority. Now, I can’t imagine how I could stay away. じゃまた。
