Filmy Feelings: B&W Chiang Mai
You know what I love about film, about B&W especially? The fucking feeling. Every texture, contrast, every gritty feature of life can be felt in each frame. I always forget how much I love shooting

B&W until I do. I always think, color shows more real emotion, but when you remove color, you can only see the bones.
Do you feel tangled just looking at this thing?
My time in Chiang Mai won’t look special to anyone but me. Most stay for a couple days, I stayed for a couple months. One of my best experiences my entire trip was walking through the Chinese market everyday, so much so I was learning locals and they were learning me. I knew faces and characteristics, I couldn’t speak the language, but we all spoke something else. They communicated something to me I won’t ever be able to explain to you.
Well, maybe I could, over a dinner table into the earlier hours of the morning, but even then, maybe it will always only be mine. Some memories are better that way. With all of life, only my experience truly counts. So, who really cares?
One of my favorites I took.
Ate this lady’s food almost everyday.
Wan and her cat, love them both.
This guy was incredibly friendly and always making jokes. Spiciest food I have eaten in Thailand.
Tell me this doesn’t look better in black and white?
