Homecoming

Life feels real, or maybe fake. Maybe feeling fake is what makes it real. There’s no situation that doesn’t feel brand new even if I’ve done it a thousand times. It’s like stepping back in time. I’m putting on an old t-shirt and jeans I wore long ago and feel the movie is playing again except my knees feel a little more feeble, my hair even has a couple greys. People remember who I am while others have never known to forget.

The dust is settling. I’m here, and even if I wanted to, I couldn’t leave anyway. Reality code red is in full effect, but it still feels different. I don’t feel trapped by it, instead, I actually feel whatever I create this time is purely what I wanted. There isn’t some path I started and got pigeon-holed into the rest of my life. Breaking free and shipping out opened entire horizons, and now I’m back, I can be deliberate, “as fuck” like the kids say.

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”

I’m on the complete other side of where I’ve grown up. It’s a fresh start.

New friends—who didn’t dip his steak in ketchup 😝🤓😉

New scenery

New memories. Japan was…only a little more than a month ago.. wild.

You wouldn’t know if, but a hole in the wall, the shoebox galore, the freakin tiniest place on earth that I loved and adored was underneath this now 12 story hotel. Whiskey Kitchen forged my new destiny while setting my old one on fire, and now it’s officially in the ground. RIP 🪦

Still peaked my head in across the street expecting to see people I knew. It’s like a bizarro world where I woke up and everyone was gone.

I’ve been told I look prettier this way..

And she gave me tons of old magazines which she stuffed with an old Christmas Card from my aunt. Worth a read 😎

I feel so official. I have it hanging on my wall. It’s like all my life has actual physical presence now. Pictures, tickets, stories, and now a board with my name on it. My name is Keegan Kim, and I was a human here in the year 1990 on planet earth. Here is how it happened…
