Tea Party: Taipei, Taiwan

Having no plans instantly takes the anxiety out of my travel, or maybe the release from needing to see anything does. Either way, I sat around yesterday and slept in. I kinda talked myself into finding food eventually, even which, felt too exhausting to actually attempt (at around noon 😝).

For a split second, I even talked myself into working out as my only activity for the day. Little did I know I would walk outside and find a beautiful little moment au natural.

I only actually committed to going to Family Mart downstairs and buying snack food so I could extend my lazy mess, but upon exiting, I had the desire to finish the last 2 shots on my roll of film. See, natural desire.

I walked to a cherry blossom I knew for sure I wanted. It ended up being gone already after only 5 days later 😅.

So, I walked back to another photo I could settle for and when I was looking for the angle, I saw a photo shop sitting right there. How pleasant. How perfect. I could shoot my last shot and deposit the film all in one go. You couldn’t write these things. Sometimes life just writes for you.

I met Huang and his father. After dropping some film and buying some new ones. Then they invited me for tea.

We sat and talked for an hour about all kinds of things. I honestly didn’t drink tea the whole time here, so I’m especially happy my one experience was with some locals unplanned, uncoordinated. This is what I love about travel🫰🏼

Finally returned to my bed. I actually talked to it when I walked in, “Oh, hello there. Good to see you again. I missed you. Glad you waited for me. Happy to see you too.” 😅

I finally made it to the gym, but this one wanted $600 TWD. That’s $20 USD for one day. Insane. No way. Not even in the states. So of course being Asia, it was connected to a claw machine arcade that I accidentally walked through.

Why do people want to win these?

Then I guess this is a possibility, I saw many leaving with HUGE BASKETS of stuff. So maybe if you can win, you get your stuff much cheaper? Seems ludicrous, but apparently it works/ is normal?!!
