Chiang Mai, a love story

Chiang Mai was such a pleasure. I stayed for way too long, but I just found it so comfortable. Elephants, temples, slow pace, kind people, good food, and friendly faces. I could get used to this. Actually I was, I hardly wanted to leave. I felt at home and I barely knew anyone. It was just easy. Easy is comfortable these days. So much commotion in the world. Everyone’s quick to fight. I’m quick to chill. Lay out, talk about the stars, eat spicy food, feel the breeze on a hot day. That is what life is all about. No need to explain it. Just feel it.

Elephants in their natural habitat. Splendid to watch.

Post bath dirt bath. Only proper.

After everyone leaves their just playing around.

Like walking a dog.

really funny looking up close. This one is pretty young. He’s got almost human baby features. So strange, but still insanely cute. He was eating too many bananas and just spitting them to the side. This did not stop him from taking more bananas.

And for fun, the elephants almost enjoyed playing with people. They get the procedure, “If I hug human with trunk, human give me banana.”- hugs for everyone.

As most like to know, all the elephant sanctuary’s I saw advertisements for strictly said elephants were rescued and not for riding. Feeding and bathing were the only activities.

Delicious. The Chinese market was two blocks from my hostel. I ate here almost every night for an average of 60 baht=$2.00 USD. I told you I loved everything about Chiang Mai.

She’s got the best pulled knuckle in Chiang Mai, even “No reservations” famous.

Love the flower covered demons. Such a cool dynamic.

Just your modern 800 year old temple. One block from my hostel. I walked through here everyday.

Not 800, but quite uniquely beautiful though.

Yi Ping lantern festival was insanity, but it was sure pretty to look at.

Met this awesome Japanese couple! Somehow most my tuktuk was Japanese. They found it fun I knew some words!

Just half the photos for now, but these already feel so magical looking back on. Film seals the flavor of these moments do well. So stoked on how these came out. I Will forever be indebted Chiang Mai.
