Tennessee on Fire
The heart and soul of a place is rarely in a city. Feelings of the old roads and homes echo the real rhythm of worlds near and far. In the country, in the outskirts is where you see the real natives. You can feel how the way of living is old. Not that they don’t enjoy something new, but they embrace what is always constant: the natural world around them.
Life is slow there. A boring pace many would say, but after living a life of thrill and seeing the pains associated, a small town of beautiful sights and people seems like no greater place in the world. Imagine if you’re neighborhood was filled with all your best friends? That seems like an oasis to me.
I always identified as a city kid growing up, but now I am quite confident I enjoy the timelessness of the country. It’s prettier here. There’s less to do, but more to enjoy. And as if I needed more belief in this idea, the season of fall and autumn have been beyond delightful. Tennessee has been showing out with impeccable weather and the most gorgeous of foliage I can remember. I traveled to Japan in hopes of feeling these feelings. It’s like the universe thought it a big joke…everything was in my backyard the whole time. Goddamn it’s beautiful.
That time of the year. Day one started off all over the place. Went to a work thing and it didn’t work out. Decided to reclaim my day. Damn that felt good.
Where am I?
I went to find a coffee and then I met Gary and Ken outside people watching. They started with, “that was a great parallel parking job sir.” Thus started a 20 min conversation into the town of Kingston Springs and such. Southern Charm is awesome.
Off to my main idea for the day.
I swear I took some photos of this guy but this is the one I found! Haven’t skated with him in 15 years probably and here we are again.
Vibey place.
And what an amazing food set! Homemade cheese and meats? Je suis en France ou quoi?
I saw this man’s sign and felt good to share some money. He played me a Merle Haggard song followed by Take it Easy. I know that means Easton had something to do with it. I always love that feeling.
This bench spot 😍
When I was buying pumpkins, they kept mentioning Montgomery Bell. Never been, time to check it.
Good idea.
Yes!
What a day. Day 2 ready.
Me and Mom day!
My mom made me a quilt of my favorite place in the world. What an amazing woman.
