New Places, Old Feelings — WhereKeeganRoams

There’s a strange remembrance here. I can feel something I’ve felt before. It’s a combination of thoughts and feelings. I’m caught wandering which is which. But, it’s a new place. This might have similar trends, but Bali is its own place. Don’t be so quick to put it in a catergory.

What I can say? It’s an over-popularized surf destination that tourism turned into something else. I can’t quite describe it yet. I’ll need more time to study it, but again, what I can say is it’s kinda insane. The fact that I can’t tell if things are built as local culture or built to sell an idea to traveling digital nomads and influencers. It’s definitely pretty. It’s got character squeezed in-between coffee shops and boutique swimsuit stores.

I came here to investigate myself though. I need a new future because my past isn’t paying for much more. It’s time to discover the next step. The beginning has already begun.

Let’s say the stoke is real. Nothing compares to surfing. So happy to find something that is so grounding

Excellent sign to start Bali. First couple people I talked to were quite friendly too. Especially that immigration agent. She said, “you’re alone? Where’s your friends? And your girlfriend?”

So jet-lagged from Singapore Hangover Layover. I basically slept all day. Got a haircut. Then went back to bed.

New day. Time to find waves.

Man. I forgot how engaged surfing is. I rarely noticed I wasn’t thinking about life and all the other things. I was just paddling and examining, paddling and judging, paddling and paddling.

So sore. So happy.
