Feeling the Magic: Hoi An, Vietnam

Honestly, I haven’t really felt much since I’ve been in Vietnam. I’ve had a couple moments that were cool and seeing Bove really brought back some memories, but it hadn’t given me that juice yet. I was still waiting for that moment to click.

Today was that day.

I woke up and intended to journal and maybe some light planning. Nope, not even through a whole page before intentions changed. I met an older woman named Jill at morning coffee. We chatted for 1.5 hours about travel and life on the road. It was fun to connect to someone random again while the coffee flowed through our veins. That’s the stuff I crave. We got lost in the convo and let it carry us. Things you were suppose to do and wanted to do didn’t matter, somehow this had taken priority. I didn’t mind at all. It felt like today was going that way. It feels like my life is going that way.

I only took a film photo of Jill, but I did take a picture of our Homestay. Quite lovely.

Also, this happened during the chat, is this a good sign?? 🌺☺️

Morning stroll. LOVING THE VIBES

Yellow houses? I think they’re the happiest. So a yellow neighborhood must be…

A random girl came up to me to ask for a photo and she turned out to be really cool! Thanks for the photo Pipa! Maybe see you down the road!

Me trying to do something besides smile and look pretty all the time 😉

YouTube suggested…and…

AMAZING!

More neighborhood things.

Stay golden pony boy.

As obnoxious as tourist culture is, it really has its moments where the place and moment just work together.

Change of tune.

Bamboo and Cao Lau.

Normal conditions in Vietnam.

Schtapp it.

Getting choked up.

I went back. If you Know me, this is what I yearn for: wholesome entertainment for my soul.

If this doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know if we can be anything.

In case you already forgot what I look like 😘

Pipa! That was fast!

First leg of the journey! SO EXCITEDDD

🥷🏼

Sitting at intersections as bikes start to gather feels intense. As the clock winds down (yes, they have timers so everyone knows) you can feel the energy build. Engines rev, the commotion doubles, and the race is about to begin. If you’ve ever seen Star Wars I, the beginning of the Pod Race is the exact feeling. I’m addicted.

I was pretty disappointed with this thing, but honestly, the angle wasn’t great so it could have been better. Meh.

The energy getting there though was FREAKIN’ COOL. Like a Mad Max Motor rally gathering people and bikes from every direction. It was a cooler experience than any dragon flame.

A picture of 10,000 phones actually.

WHAT A DAY! Did I say something about magic? I felt it today. Vietnam shared with me some of its heart and I felt a pulse in it, and in me. Tomorrow could be epic.
